The African Historical Photographic Archives (AHPA) encourages all historical archives to submit their collection to display on our website. www.ahparchives.org is a non-profitable project. The AHPA encourages private collections and single photographs in family collections to be link to our datadase.  The AHPA website aims to create a historical photographic portal for Museums and collectors to showcase their collections to the public and their peers.  Owners of the collection retain full copyright of there images displayed on the website. Images will not be used for any commercial purposes . If requested the AHPA can supply an international sales portal via www.africanpictures.net for collections. Please see section 4 for more details about africanpictures.net and the ability of selling your images though one of Africa’s top photographic libraries. The AHPA website is only a visual portal for collections. We do however work with various companies and organisations to help museums and collector gain access to resources that can help them sustain and preserve their own collection.  For more information see Resource section on the website.

 

Criteria for submitting archive to AHPA:

  • Collection photograph must be older than 20 years
  • Photographs must be of historical significance

 

How to submit collections or photographs:
E-mail a short description of the Collection to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it , accompanied by five images (600 pixels wide).
Include Collection Name, Contact details and Location of Collection.
Registered Members can upload more images onto the gallery system after being approved.

 

Donate photographs:

The SAPA welcome any unwanted historical photographs that can be added to our Trust for caretaking and preservation. Full accreditation will be given.
